After a number of years and lots of living, Tom and I are finally starting up the NEW Donnelly Arts.
It took awhile. Between getting a studio set up for me, setting up a workshop for Tom (a much longer process that involved an electrician), and finding the balance between art and life (and consulting, for me), it has been a challenge.
The State of New Hampshire didn’t make it any easier either when they told us that our business name, Donnelly Arts, was “too close” to the name of another business in the state. Luckily, I was able to reach out to the very nice business owners. They were happy to provide us with official ‘permission’ to use our business name. We Donnellys need to stick together!
Getting the business moving has been fun and frustrating. After a long time away from creating jewelry, I’m just starting to get my creative mojo back. Tom has been busily turning and has a pretty large inventory to sell. However, I have been trying to get the website finished, getting our Etsy shop up and running, and working some consulting gigs through my consultancy—Creativity Coffee Marketing. Life has been busy!
I’m very happy with the new direction that my work has taken. One class, lots of trial and error, and tons of new ideas…the creative juices are flowing!
