“Copper Whirl” makes my head spin. Circles everywhere!
The centerpiece is a domed piece of pure copper. It has been textured with a hammer (my favorite tool) and heated to create that spectacular red-gold glow. The center of the dome has a small brass tube that holds a very blingy white Cubic Zirconia. Around that tube is a circle of thick copper wire that flares through and out the sides of the pendant to create wings. These wings are connected to more circles, and finally a copper chain.
The pendant is very striking. While the photo shows it as a bit matte, the center stone sparkles, and the rim of the done has been polished to give a reflective metal glow.
With exception of the thin copper chain and lobster clasp (made with copper-plated metal), the focal pendant, the large soldered rings and the small jump rings are all pure bare copper. Everything has been left raw to enable the piece to continue to age and patina.
